My Favourite Sock Wool
I think this is the best sock wool: 1. The patterns always work well because the length of each colour section is the same length - unlike some sock wools. 2. I was dubious about the “aloe vera” bit, but after many washes, my socks are still soft, making them pleasant to wear and knit. 3. The high wool content makes them very confortable, warm and breathable, yet there is enough nylon to make them durable. I like that the colours actually go with jeans and trousers, i.e not orange red and purple mix. I love this sock wool content- and I have used a lot of different makes.
I love knitting socks, and in my opinion this is the best sock yarn that you can buy: 1. The patterns always work, so it is easy to match two socks. In my experience, many companies have uneven lengths of one colour, which is not the case here. 2. The yarn is an even thickness, which gives a lovely finish. Some sock wools leave you trying to knit with great chunks or tiny strands in the same ball. 3. The yarn itself is breathable and soft, with the right blend of nylon for durability. It doesn’t irritate my eczema-prone skin, my feet don’t sweat, yet the socks are durable. 4. Speaking of softness, this makes it wonderful to knit with. To my surprise, ( I was dubious about the “aloe vera” business) this lovely softness has lasted wash after wash. 5. The colours are gorgeous, so the socks go with lots in my wardrobe, unlike some purple/red/white and green combinations. This is just me, though. By now you must be wondering if I have shares in the company, but no, I just love the wool.
