You can never have too many knitted hats or headbands. And if you still think you're on the verge of having too many, you can always knit hats or headbands for your family members, friends, colleagues, etc. and give them a lovely autumn or winter gift.

We offer a wide range of free patterns for knitted hats and headbands for women, men, children and babies. The patterns offer many different knitting techniques, so there is something for everyone.

A classic knitted beanie is often knitted in simple stitch with ribbed edges or ribbed throughout. Such a beanie is an easy and manageable knitting project that doesn't need to take many hours or days. A classic knitted hat never goes out of fashion and can be worn by both men and women, girls and boys.

We also offer patterns that allow you to play even more with knitting techniques. For example, choose a pattern to knit a hat with a textured pattern, cables or full satin stitch.

You can also knit a fun and quirky hat for a baby or a loved one. Our selection includes hats that look like blueberries, strawberries or pumpkins. You'll also find cute and adorable Santa hats that will be a hit in December. Depending on what time of year you're approaching, you can knit a baby or children's hat that will fit right in with the festive season and bring joy and cosiness. Check out some of the baby and child hat patterns above.

As for headbands, here you are also guaranteed an easy and quick knitting project. If you want a classic headband, you can knit it in garter stitch, ribbing or full satin stitch all the way through. If you want something a little more playful, you can choose a headband pattern that has a nice twist in the centre.

You can also choose to knit a headband with a beautiful pattern. Check out this pattern, for example, which has a nice English rib pattern - perfect for winter wear!

Once you've chosen a pattern for a beautiful knitted hat or headband, it's time to choose your yarn and yarn colour. Because the function of hats and headbands is to keep your head and ears warm, many hats and headbands are knitted in wool or a blend of wool and, for example, alpaca or polyamide. It's important to choose a yarn that feels soft and cosy and is not scratchy.

Here you can see our full range of wool yarns.

Once you've found the right yarn for your hat, beanie or headband, it's time to choose the colours! Here, too, the possibilities are endless. Do you want your hat or headband in several colours or just one? And which colour best suits your taste and your autumn or winter coat? The great thing about hats and headbands is that if you find it difficult to choose just one yarn colour, you can easily and quickly knit several hats or headbands in different colours. That way, you'll have a few different colours to choose from every day when you're heading out the door.

Most hats and headbands are knitted with circular needles, and in some cases it's also a good idea to use double-pointed needles when knitting hats. In our patterns you can see which needles are recommended.

We hope you are now well prepared to knit a beautiful hat or headband. Enjoy your knitting :-)
