Katia

The yarn and textile manufacturer Katia was founded in Barcelona in 1951 and has since been dedicated to creating yarns and knitting patterns for knitting enthusiasts throughout a lifetime.

Katia was originally established as a subsidiary of the parent company Hilaturas Génesis, but has since grown into a large, internationally recognised company with many loyal customers and extensive experience within the DIY textile industry. The Katia Group does not consist solely of the Katia brand, but also includes the three brands Katia, Concept by Katia and Lanas STOP. Today, Katia is a strong force in the yarn world, with yarns sold in more than 50 countries and new, innovative patterns that inspire knitters everywhere.

For example, try Katia Jarapa, a chunky yarn designed for making items such as blankets, cushions and baskets, inspired by traditional southern Spanish Jarapa rugs, or try Katia 50 Mohair Shades – a fine and fluffy mohair yarn that, with its 20 g, has an impressive yardage of 200 m.
