If you want to start knitting a pair of pot holders, you can choose to knit them on circular needles or straight regular needles. Both options can be used and it depends on what you prefer. In our selection of needles, you can choose to knit with wooden, metal, plastic or bamboo needles. This is again a matter of taste and entirely up to the individual knitter.
Pot holders are often made in cotton yarn. This is because cotton is good at withstanding heat from pots, pans, and dishes. In addition, much cotton yarn can withstand being machine washed at high temperatures, making it easy to clean the pot holders. When knitting pot holders, it is important that they become thick so that you don't burn your fingers when using them. This can, for example, be done by knitting with two strands of cotton yarn.
One of our popular cotton yarns, which is perfect for pot holders, is DROPS Paris. This yarn consists of 100% cotton and comes in many beautiful colours. The yarn fits needle size 5 mm. If you prefer a thinner thread, we also recommend our cotton yarn, DROPS Safran. This yarn is suitable for needle size 3 mm.
