Silk yarn has many unique properties

Silk, unlike many other types of yarn, is a 100% natural fibre that is spun from the mulberry butterfly's cocoon. It may sound a little strange but it's actually true. Silk is a very glossy and beautiful material, which is both soft and has amazing absorption skills. Silk can actually hold up to 30% moisture without feeling wet.

Silk is also heat- and cold insulating, which means that your body will keep warm in the cold winter months. Although silk can seem very porous at first, it is actually incredibly durable and you can easily combine this type of yarn with all kinds of accessories such as buttons that will spice up any design. All in all, silk has all the good properties that are often sought after in a yarn type.

Spoil yourself or your family

You have plenty of opportunities to spoil yourself or your child, grandkids, sister or someone else with a home-knitted blouse or anything made in the softest and most beautiful silk yarn. You will also find a wide selection of silk yarns combined with alpaca, which gives an even softer yarn quality, perfect for especially baby clothes. Have a look at all of the different kinds of patterns for baby clothes right here.

If you need a good gift idea, it's always a safe bet to knit or crochet a unique piece of clothing that will help those you hold dear to keep warm.

What you should know

When you click on the different kinds of yarns below, you will be presented with the yarn, its different colours and also our tips and tricks on how to get the very best knitting experience. Among other things, we tell you which knitting needles we recommend you to use as well as the knitting tension of the yarn and the washing instructions. We always strive to make the buying experience as easy and painless as possible for you. And we believe that you get this when we openly tell you what properties each product has.

Easy and fast delivery right to your door
