The set comes on a blister card and contains 3 water-soluble graphite pencils in assorted grades as well as 1 round brush #8. The pencils feature an extra reinforced, break-resistant lead (special formulation and super-bonded), so they withstand both pressure and repeated layering. The wood comes from certified, sustainably managed forests.

Use

Ideal for preliminary sketches for watercolour drawings, classic watercolour painting and sketching. Use the pencil dry for clear lines and texture – then add water with the included brush to dissolve the graphite and create soft transitions, shading and painterly areas.

Tips for use

• Draw the details first with 4B for more control – then build depth with 6B and 8B.
• Use a lightly damp brush for soft shading and a wetter brush for clear wash areas.
• Test the amount of water on a piece of paper first – the result may vary depending on paper quality.
• Work in layers: Let the first layer dry, then add more graphite for extra contrast.
